I thought the argument on whether Huck was just being rebellious or self-reliant was very interesting. I think Huck realizes that he enjoys being self reliant when he spends time alone in the woods with Pap. From that point on, I don't think Huck will ever enjoy being formally educated or confined to living with Widow Douglas. Huck chose to run away from Pap because of both how Pap treated Huck and also Huck's love for the wilderness.
I feel that this group had a solid argument for their points and all new the facts. They covered all of their questions and managed to create a meaningful discussion about them all. the ideas about self reliance on the river and the distrust of others seemed quite strong.
